AFS was founded in 1985 as a software provider focused on helping food and beverage distributors and wholesalers automate complex tasks with an ERP system, which was developed exclusively for the industry. Starting in 2005, AFS began building out its capabilities to provide niche solutions, such as a warehouse management system from Motek, for niche segments, including seafood processing and foodservice manufacturing, within the food and beverage industry.
Over the next 10 years, AFS added 13 new solutions to its portfolio with the goal of supporting manufacturers, distributors, sales agencies and retailers across the value chain. Solutions included trade promotion management from MEI, Synectics and Answer Systems, retail execution and direct store delivery from Visicom, Quofore, The Pop Company and Ross Computer Systems, and sales agency management from Becton-schantz.
In 2019, AFS Technologies (AFS) and Exceedra announced the merger of their business operations to offer global Integrated Business Planning and Trade Promotion Management/Optimization solutions to the Consumer Goods market. AFS acquired the Exceedra shares and the merged business began to operate under the Exceedra brand as a division of AFS Technologies.
Former Mars executive David Griffiths started Cube Software. Based outside of London, UK, Cube Software quickly became a market leader in the Demand and Supply Planning industry. Some of the first clients that Griffiths signed, still use the company’s software today.
Over the next two decades, Cube Software solutions spanned the globe and the company began building an impressive list of respected clients, including Pirelli, Heineken, Kraft, Alberto Culver and American Standard.
Cube Software became Exceedra under the guidance from a new management team. Exceedra shifted its focus to develop the commercial planning part of the process to complement the supply & demand planning solutions to provide a truly integrated business planning solution.
Microsoft selected Exceedra to join the exclusive BizSpark One program. Open to only 20 companies globally at any one time, Exceedra’s inclusion in this program was based on the company’s strong growth and vision to shape the future of the industry.
The Promotion Optimization Institute, LLC (POI) brings together manufacturers, retailers, solution providers, analysts, academics and other industry leaders. Members of POI share practices that are cross-functional in both structured and through industry alliances.
Exceedra Inc was formed as the North American subsidiary, based in Charlotte, North Carolina. A brand new US-based management team was brought in to help build the business in a new region.
Global expansion didn’t end there. Exceedra opened up another office based in Perth, Australia, covering the Asia-Pacific region. A new APAC management team was brought in to build the business in another new region.
